Technologies for Future Run-Time Reconfigurable Scenarios

As the concept of reconfigurable computing proliferates over an increasingly wide range, the relative capability of commercially available hardware platforms becomes increasingly important. In this paper, we present a review of current digital solutions to reconfigurable computing, with particular emphasis placed on modern Field Programmable Logic devices. Current hardwareprogression trends in this field are identified, before some of the more important developmental technologies, which will be optimised for run-time reconfiguration scenarios, will be identified.
